Train

There is no train connection with the airport.

Car and bus

From the center of Christchurch you reach the airport by first following Columbo Street, from Cathedral Square, and then Bealey Street and Harper Avenue, there you take a right, Fendalton Avenue, in the direction of Hagley Park and then Memorial Avenue. The airport is right by the roundabout on Memorial Avenue.

There are several possibilities to travel by bus from the airport to Christchurch. The Airport Flyer leaves every half hour from the terminal to the center of Christchurch, travel time is 30 minutes and the rate is NZD 7.00. The Shuttle Bus takes you to every desired destination in Christchurch for NZD 12.00–NZD 18.00, and the city bus line 10, Harewood–Cashmere, is the cheapest option at NZD 2.50, but takes longer, 40 minutes.

Car rental - Christchurch International Airport

In both terminals there are counters for car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Hertz and Maui Rentals. Thrifty is only represented in the terminal for domestic flights. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall. They can take you to the center of Christchurch in approximately 15 minutes, the rates vary from NZD 25.00–NZD 40.00.

Airport Parking

In the new parking garage right next to the terminal there are 600 places available, the rates are: first half hour - NZD 4.00, then NZD 1.00 per 15 minutes, from two hours parking - NZD 3.00 per hour with a maximum of NZD 25.00 per day. In the parking area you pay NZD 4.00 for the first hour, then NZD 1.00 per 20 minutes, from two hours parking you pay NZD 2.00 per hour with a maximum of NZD 19.00 per day and NZD 57.00 per week.
