Philadelphia International Airport

The international airport of Philadelphia is located 11 kilometers from the city center and has six terminals. Between the terminals and the long-term parking areas, there are free shuttle buses. The high-speed train (R1) to Philadelphia also stops at all terminals.

Train

There is a train connection to the center of Philadelphia, the R1, operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transport Authority - SEPTA (tel: +1(0)215 580 7800). It leaves every 30 minutes to, among other places, the Amtrak Station on 30th Street, the Greyhound Bus Terminal and University City, a one-way ticket costs $7.00.

Car and bus

The airport is easy to reach via the I-95 South (Interstate 95), or via the I-76 East. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

At the Commercial Transportation Roadway there are public transport terminals. Bus lines 37 and 108 connect Zone 1 to the center of Philadelphia.

Car rental - Philadelphia International Airport

Car rental companies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National have their desks at Zone 2. At the baggage handling area, there are telephones you can use to contact these desks to rent a car. You can also book a car in advance at EasyTerra, which offers a comparison of several providers.

Taxi

At Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway, there are taxis, at Zone 6 shuttle buses and at Zone 7 limousines. Taxis use a fixed rate of $26.25 to the center of Philadelphia. Airport Parking

For safety reasons, parking on the ground floor at the baggage handling areas, was for some time, not possible, but it is once again allowed. However, at a higher rate: $3.00 for the first half hour and after that $2.00 per hour, after 4 hours, there is a daily rate of $38.00. In the other indoor car parks, the rates are the same for the first 3.5 hours, but the daily rate is lower at $17.00. At Economy Parking, there is a daily rate of $9.00. At the airport, there is a Marriott Hotel (tel: +1(0)215 492 9000). Shops and restaurants

Recently, Philadelphia Airport has increased the number of shops and restaurants considerably, especially in Terminals B and C, but elsewhere in the airport as well. There are Duty Free shops in Terminal A (East and West). For further information, visit the Philadelphia MarketPlace.

Baggage

For safety reasons, it is not possible to store baggage at Philadelphia Airport. The lost and found department is located in the Communications Center, between Terminals C and D, which can be reached via (tel: +1(0)215 937 6888).

Information

There are information desks in all terminals. Via the Airport Communications Center (tel: +1(0)215 937 6937) you can obtain general information 24 hours a day. In addition, there are white telephones everywhere, to connect you to an airport employee, and at the baggage handling area in Terminal A there is a help desk (Passenger Assistance Counter).

Business

As the name suggests, the Laptop Lane Business Center (tel: +1(0)215 937 4360) provides computers with internet access and some other business facilities. Between Terminals A and B, the UPS Store is located, which offers fax and copying facilities.The airport hotel, Marriott offers extensive business facilities, including small and large meeting rooms with all modern equipment, and conference rooms. The Marriott can be reached via a pedestrian bridge, connected to Terminal B.

Disabled facilities

The airport is very accessible for disabled people. There are modified elevators, toilets and wheelchair slopes. All shuttle buses are accessible to wheelchairs and there are disabled parking spaces. Other services

There are exchange offices and ATM's throughout the terminals. First Aid can be obtained via one of the many information desks, or via the white telephones. Wireless internet is available in all terminals, on work days, a daily rate of $7.95 applies, but during weekends this service is free. Students can always get a free access code for Wi-Fi internet - upon showing their student card.
