Las Vegas McCarran Airport
McCarran International Airport is in America's top 10 of busiest airports and handles about 30 million passengers annually. It is named after a Las Vegas politician. At the gambling city's airport you realize immediately in which city you are. There are more than one thousand one armed bandits at the airport. The billboards tell you which shows are showing in the city and Bill Cosby's and B.B. King's voices warn you for steps.
There are two terminals, which are connected by a free shuttle bus. Terminal 1 is for domestic flights, Terminal 2 for international flights. The airport is spacious and conveniently arranged. The safety check lines are long, so be on time. A waiting time of 2 hours is not uncommon (especially on weekends).

Public transportation is a quick way to travel in Las Vegas, for example, a monorail runs along its many hotels. There is an airport shuttle (see below) from the airport to the Las Vegas railway station. From Las Vegas station it is possible to travel through the whole of America. Car and bus
The airport lies about 8 kilometers from downtown Las Vegas. From the airport you can already see 'The Strip'. Its neon lights direct you straight to the center of town.
Citizen's Area Transit´s transit busses (CAT) (tel. +1(0)702 228 7433) operate the bus services from the airport with services 108 and 109 to the Las Vegas railway station and the Las Vegas Strip. Car rental Las Vegas McCarran Airport
A free shuttle bus (Exit 10 and 11) takes you to the McCarran Rent-a-Car Center. All the major car rental agencies have branches here: Advantage, Alamo/ National, Avis, EasyCar, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, Sixt, Payless, Sav-more and Thrifty. Taxicabs are parked on the east side of de arrival hall (Exit 1- 4). The average rate is USD 15.00 per trip, including a 15% tip. Taxi's demand a USD 1.20 additional charge from the airport. Parking at the airport
There are several parking options at McCarran. Short term, long term and valet parking. Each option has been assigned its own color. For dropping off and picking up passengers, please follow the yellow signs. The red signs are for short term (paid) parking (max. 3 hours) and valet parking. The green signs are for long term parking and the pink ones for economy long term parking. There are shuttle busses running to and from long term (economy) parking.

Shopping and dining
Both terminals have many shops, restaurants and (snack) bars. However, the price of food and drink are generally quite high.

All terminals have service desks where you can get information about the airport and timetables. There are information posts where you can ask for information by pressing zero. There are also many volunteers at McCarran that can assist you. At various places on the airport you can get tourist information, book hotel rooms or arrange for a chauffeur-driven car.
The airport has several internet, translation and fax facilities. For more business facilities you can go to one of the many hotels near the airport. T2 has a VIP room.
Access for disabled people
McCarran has toilets people with reduced mobility and (TDD /LED) telephones for the hearing impaired. Furthermore, the airport has wheelchair ramps and adapted elevators and toilets.
All terminals have ATMs. T2 has an exchange office. There are fitness facilities with a sauna, an aviation museum, an art museum, playgrounds and First Aid stations. The airport also has a quick check-in service. There are free computer kiosks (T1) and free wireless internet.
