Local transport

Train

The airport has its own train station, which can be reached by shuttle bus. There is a lightrail connection to the center of Baltimore. Destinations on the east coast can be reached by Amtrak trains, while MARC trains connect to Baltimore, Washington DC, Prince Georges County, Anne Arundel County and Harford County.

Car and bus

The airport is located along the I-195. From Washington, take the Washington-Baltimore Parkway to I-195/BWI. From Baltimore, take Russell Street, which connects to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

There are various bus connections: SuperShuttle (tel: +1(0) 800 258 3826) connects the airport to Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Washington DC and Virginia, the Airport Shuttle (tel: +1(0)410 381 2772) reaches destinations in Howard County and Maryland; the BWI Express (tel: +1(0)202 637 7000) connects the airport to the Greenbelt subway station in Washington.

Car rental - Baltimore-Washington International Airport

Car rental companies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty have their desks in a separate building, which can be reached by shuttle bus, on the corner of Stoney Run Road and New Ridge Road. You can also book a rental car in advance at EasyTerra, which offers a comparison of several providers.

Taxi

There are plenty of taxis outside the terminal building. They all use meters, fixed rates are not allowed in Maryland. A ride to Baltimore costs approximately $32.00 and a ride to Washington approximately $80.00. For further information (tel: +1(0)410 859 1100).

Airport Parking

There is plenty of parking space at this airport. An electronic information system guides you to available parking spaces. Up-to-date parking information is also available on radio station 1040 AM.

The car park near the terminal (Hourly Parking) costs $2.00 per half hour with a maximum of $20.00 per day, the first 30 minutes are free. Parking in the Daily Garage costs $2.00 per hour, with a maximum of $10.00 per day. The long-term parking area costs $1.00 per hour and $8.00 per day. Both from the Daily Garage and the long-term parking area, there are shuttle buses to the terminal. The website contains a map of the parking facilities.
