Calgary airport: Calgary International Airport (YYC)

Calgary International Airport

Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the Canadian state of Alberta´s most important airport. YCC yearly handles approximately 12.5 million travelers and is Canada´s third largest passenger airport. The airport is also an important center for cargo transportation.

Calgary´s airport has Canada´s longest runway. Its length is due to the airport´s altitude. Because of the lower air pressure, airplanes need a higher approach speed. The airport is know for its friendly volunteers (white hat volunteers) wearing white cowboy hats and red vests.
