Local transport

Train

There's no train connection with El Salvador Airport.

Car and bus

The airport is situated 50 kilometers southwest of San Salvador. The airport is easily accessible by rental car: freeway RN-5 runs along the airport and the exit is clearly signposted.

Two bus lines (138 and 400) connect the airport with San Salvador. A bus leaves every 30 minutes.

Car rental El Salvador Airport

You can find counters for car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall. Apart from the local rental companies Tropic and Uno you can rent cars with Avis, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty. You can also book a rental car in advance by using the service provided by EasyTerra; they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall. Not all taxis have a meter. If there's no meter, make sure to agree on a price upfront. The same applies if a driver refuses to switch on the meter. Count on approximately US$ 17 for a ride to San Salvador.

Airport Parking

There's an open-air parking lot outside the terminal. We advise to only park your rental car here for a short time.
