Cagliari Elmas Airport is the most important airport of the Italian island of Sardinia. It is also called Mario Mameli. It handles approximately 2.5 million passengers per year.
The modern building has three levels. The arrival hall, the baggage claim and customs are on the ground floor. Car rental agencies, banks, post office and first aid station are located in the central hall. Next to the airline desks you can find shops and restaurants. The offices and a (outdoor) restaurant are located on the second floor.

There is no direct railway connection to the airport. However, there is a regular bus service to Cagliari (see below). Cagliari's bus station is next to the railway station.
Car and bus
The airport lies approximately 6 kilometers from downtown Cagliari on the dual carriageway S130. Take the Via del Trasvolatori exit.
The bus service from the airport to downtown Cagliari leaves every 30 minutes. To get to the Piazza Matteotti takes 15 minutes and costs less than one Euro. The bookstore on the ground floor sells bus tickets. For more information please visit the bus company website (tel. +39 (0)70 4098327).
Car rental Cagliari Airport
The car rental agencies are located on the ground floor (AutoEuropa, EasyCar, Sardinya, Eurorent, MidaRent, Pinna, Matta, Ruvioli, Pintauro, A.M. Service, Dollar Thrifty-Italy by Car and Budget). Taxicabs are stationed outside the arrival hall. A trip to downtown Cagliari costs approximately EUR 10.00. You can also book a taxi, for example with Radiotaxi (tel. + 39(0)70 400 101).
Parking at the airport
The airport has 1700 parking spaces. There are a few free spaces for dropping passengers off and picking them up. In addition to that, there are several paid parking options: Land Side Car Park for short term parking (EUR 18.00 for one day) and a multi-storey parking garage for long term parking (EUR 9.00 per day).

Shopping and dining
The airport has a few shops, restaurants, bars and fast-food options. Most of the shops and restaurants are located near departures on the first floor. There is a Panorama restaurant with a terrace on the second floor.
The baggage room and lost and found items are located inside the arrival hall at the information center (tel. +39(0)403 735 1449). There are two airline offices on the ground floor near the baggage claim belts. Airone (tel. +39(0)70 240 611) and Sogaerdyn (tel. +39 (0)335 123 2436).
