Local transport

Train

There is no direct train or underground connection with the airport, but bus line 128 goes to the nearest metro station at the Kurt Schumacher Platz (line U6).

Car and bus

The airport is eight kilometers northwest of the center of Berlin along the highway (Autobahn) A111. This road makes a connection between the large ring road around Berlin (A10) and the inner-city ring A100. The route to the airport is clearly indicated on each of these roads.

Every ten minutes the JetExpressBus TXL (tel: +49(0)30 11861) leaves the airport to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) at the Alexanderplatz. The X9, another fast bus, goes to the metro station Berlin Zoo. Buses 128 and 109 connect the airport with various metro stations (U-Bahn) and the city train (Stadt-Bahn).

Car rental - Berlin Tegel Airport

At the entrance of parking garage P2 are counters for car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National Car Rental and Sixt. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis can be found at the garage for short-term parking (PK) and at terminal A1. A ride to the center of Berlin costs approximately €30.00.

Airport Parking

The center of the hexagonal terminal is the parking garage for short-term parking, at PK the first 15 minutes costs €1.00 and €2.00 per 15 minutes thereafter. Parking garages P1 and P2 charge €4.00 for the first hour, €8.00 for the second hour and €2.50 per hour thereafter, they are close to the terminal and P5 charge €95.00 for 1 week and €155.00 for 2 weeks, P5 is intended for long-term parking. There is also a place for long-term parking at the area that was intended for the second terminal, because the airport will close the second terminal (“Terminal Ost”) will not be built.
