Train

The airport does not have a rail connection.

Car and bus

The airport lies along highway N2 to Cape Town, the exit is clearly indicated, there is only one road that leads you to the airport.

Driver services are offered by Katanga Executive Parking Services (tel: +27(0)219 342 240), this company also rents private parking garages, follow the “Drop & Go” signs. Limousines with drivers can also be hired through Cape Limo Services (tel: +27(0)217 853 100), the first two hours costs R1,000 and R300 per hour thereafter.

There are no regular bus lines to the airport. There are taxi mini buses, the first passenger pays R120 and each passenger from the same group pays R30. There are different businesses that offer this service.

Car rental - Cape Town International Airport

There are eight car rental companies represented: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Imperial, National Alamo, Tempest and Dollar Thrifty. The counters can be found in the Domestic Terminal and the International Arrivals Terminals. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several car rental providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Officially, only taxis from the company Touch Down (tel: +27(0)219 194 659) are allowed at the airport, but there are also many private taxi drivers, a ride to the center of Cape Town is approximately 20 minutes. The costs vary greatly, depending on the time of day and number of passengers, expect from R150 to R220 for a ride to the center of Cape Town and 50% extra at night.

Airport Parking

There are 2,600 parking places which are all close to the terminals. Rates: first hour R9, second hour R12 until the fourth hour R20. Long-term: four days R87.00, and R15.00 per day thereafter. At the moment, a parking garage with five levels is being built which will double the number of parking places.
