Trieste Airport (Friuli Venezia Giulia) (TRS)

The airport is 33 kilometers northwest of Trieste and 110 kilometers east of Venice. It is the entrance to the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, hence the official name. It is very close to Slovenia and Croatia which are accessible by direct bus connections.

The airport has a modern terminal and lies along highway A4 between Trieste and Venice (exit Redipuglia).

Local transport

Train

The nearest train station is in Monfalcone (5 kilometers from the airport on the train line Trieste - Venice). Every 20-25 minutes a local bus – APT line 10 – leaves to this station.

Car and bus

The airport is easily accessible via the Autostrada A4. This is a toll road. You take the exit Redipuglia and follow the SS14 in the direction of Venice. The airport is clearly indicated on the traffic signs.

There are bus connections with several surrounding areas. For Udine and Triest: line 51, for Gorizia line 1, and for Monfalcone line 10. You can purchase tickets at the machine in the Arrivals Hall or at the window in the bus station. For more information you can call tel: +39(0)481 593511.

There is an express connection with the bus company Terravision to the cities Bernardin, Koper, Zusterna, Izola, Lucija, Portoroz and Piran on the Slovenian coast.

Car rental Trieste Airport

At the bus station you can find counters for the car rental companies Argus, Avis, Hertz, Sixt and Maggiore. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the Arrivals Hall (tel: +39(0)481 778000). You pay € 25.00 - € 30.00 for a ride to Trieste.

Airport Parking

The airport has two monitored parking areas (P2 and P3) where you must pay, and two unattended areas that are free. For short term parking you pay € 1.70 per hour. For long term parking you pay € 1.10 for the first two hours, up to 12 hours parking costs € 5.10 and up to 24 hours € 8.50. After that parking costs € 7.40 per day or € 25.80 per week. Hotels

There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest hotels are in Ronchi dei Legionari (3 km) and in Monfalcone (5 km), such as the Doge Inn Airport Hotel (tel: +39(0)481 779401). Shops and restaurants

There is a limited offering of eating and drinking places in the terminal. There are two snack bars and one restaurant. There is a reasonable shopping area named ‘La Plazetta’.

Baggage

There is a window for lost and found items by the baggage belts (tel: +39(0)481 773227). You cannot store baggage at this airport.

Information

There is a service counter in the Arrivals Hall, which is also available through the general telephone number. In addition there is a window from the Tourism Bureau where you can, among other things, get information about public transportation.

Business

FVG Card holders (Blue or Gold) can use the VIP-Lounge free of charge. Furthermore, there are two meeting rooms. Information through tel: +39(0)481 773224.

Handicapped persons

There are reserved parking places for handicapped persons. The airport also has adapted restrooms and telephones. You can contact the general service counter for assistance.

Other services

There are banks, money exchange offices and cash machines. There is also a post office. Wireless internet is available in the whole terminal and there are also computers with internet connection in the Arrivals Hall. First Aid (tel: +39(0)481 474590) is available through the general service counter.
