Local transport

Train

The subway station is nearby although not directly connected with the terminal. The South line of Recife's subway system takes you quickly to the city center.

Car and bus

Recife Airport is situated 11 kilometers south of the city center. From the city the airport is easily accessible by rental car via freeway BR-101. The exit to the airport is about 1 kilometer past the university campus which you'll see on your right hand. The way to the airport is signposted. The airport is also close to the beach of Boa Viagem (about 2 kilometers, more remote hotels are located at a maximum of 8 kilometers from the airport).

Minibuses (line 42) run to Recife via the Avenue Conselheiro Aguiar (parallel to the beach) on a regular basis.

Car rental Recife Airport

Only one international car rental company has a presence at Recife Airport: Avis. The others are local providers: Localiza, Locar Alpha, Movida, Unidas and Transnet. You can also book your rental car in advance using the service provided by EasyTerra; they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

There are two types of taxi companies at Recife Airport: 'normal' and 'special' ones. The latter has more luxury cars, but is of course more expensive. There's a sign showing the rates at the taxi stand. Make sure to agree on price with the driver upfront.

Airport Parking

Right in front of the terminal lies a large (and peculiarly designed) parking garage with space for more than 2,000 cars. On the roof a sort of terrace has been laid out. The first 20 minutes are free, the next hour costs 4 real, and after that 2 real per hour. The day rate for the first day is 30 real, and after that 20 real.
