Sydney International Airport

Sydney International is Australia's biggest airport and handles about 28 million passengers annually. Half of the country's foreign visitors arrive at this airport. Kingsford Smith International Airport is one of the world's oldest airports.

The airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 is the international terminal, T2 and T3 (Qantas) are for domestic flights. The T-Bus runs between Terminals 1 and 2 in 10 minutes. A one way ticket for this bus costs AUD 5.50. The Airport Link also runs between the terminals, but takes only 2 minutes. A one way ticket for this train costs AUD 5.00. Terminals 2 and 3 are at walking distance from each other.

Train

The Airport Link trains leave from the international and domestic terminals for Circular Quay every 10 minutes. The trip to the airport takes 13 minutes. A one way ticket costs about AUD 15.00 (tel. +61(0)2 8337 8417).

Car and bus

The airport is located about 9 kilometers south of Sydney.

Every 25 minutes, bus 300 leaves from the bus stops at T1 and T3 to Bondi Junction. A one way ticket costs about AUD 5.00 and the trip takes one hour. For more information, please visit the Sydney bus company website. There are also shuttle bus services from the airport.

Car rental Sydney International Airport

Car rental agencies are located in the arrival halls of the terminals: Avis, Europcar, Budget, Hertz, Thrift and Red Spot. You can also book a rental car in advance at EasyTerra, this website compares prices of multiple car rental agencies simultaneously.

Taxi

There are taxicabs in front of all terminals. A trip to downtown Sydney costs about AUD 50.00 and takes about half an hour. Everyone has to pay the AUD 3.00 toll from the airport. You can book a taxi at tel. +61(0)133 300.

Parking at the airport

Travelers have short and long term parking options near the terminals. At the parking garages there is a Valet parking service (Pronto!) available from AUD 20.00 per hour. Short term parking costs AUD 15.00 per hour and AUD 52.00 per day. You can also book a parking space on line for cheap long term parking. Here the first seven days are AUD 132.00 and after that it costs AUD 12.00 per day. The P-Bus is a free shuttle bus going to the long term parking area.

Shopping and dining

The terminals have many shops, restaurants and (snack) bars. Especially at T1 there is a lot to choose from.

Baggage

There is a Smarte Carte baggage depot (tel. +61(0)2 9667 0926) at the arrival halls of T1 and T2 (tel. +39(0)2 5858 0298). Price: AUD 8.00 up to AUD 16.00 per suitcase. Information

All terminals have service desks where you can get information about the airport and timetables. Volunteers in gold colored jackets are happy to assist you at the airport. At T1 and T2's information desks it is also possible to get tourist information, book hotel rooms and arrange a chauffeur driven car.

Business

Sydney Airport Executive Services (tel. +61(0)2 9352 7499) in T1 and T2, offers comprehensive services with office and meeting rooms with catering. At T1, there are also VIP rooms, which can be reserved on line. At T2 you can book conference rooms with business facilities for up to 1000 people.

Access for disabled people

Kingfort Smith has toilets for people with reduced mobility and telephones for the hearing impaired. There are especially reserved parking spaces for disabled people. Furthermore the airport has wheelchair ramps and adapted elevators and toilets. There are airport assistants for arranging facilities such as wheelchairs and children's trolleys.

All terminals have banks, exchange offices and ATMs. There is a medical station at T1 (tel. +61(0)9 667 4355). Terminals 1 and 2 have wireless internet access everywhere (tel. +61(0)1300 553 937). There are fixed points with internet access. On the third floor of T1 there is a prayer room.
