Tampa International Airport handles about 20 million passengers annually. The airport is known as one of the United States' best airports. This is mainly due to the terminals' clear layout.
The airport has a central terminal (Landside) for checking in, transfers and baggage handling. This terminal is divided in a red (north) and a blue (south) section. The Landside terminal is connected to several satellite sections (Airside A, C, E, F). A shuttle train (people mover) runs between the Landside terminal and the other sections.

Car and bus
The airport is located about 11 kilometers west of Tampa. It is directly on Highway 60, east of the Courtney Cambell Causeway and south of the Veterans Expressway. You can drive west via Spruce Street or Columbus Drive. The entrance to the airport is west of Westshore Boulevard. From Highway I-275 take exit 39. The airport is clearly indicated on the road signs.
The local bus HARTline (tel: +1(0)813 254 4278) bus stop is located at the (red) baggage department. Bus 30 goes to Tampa. The Sarasota-Tampa Express (tel. +1(0)800 326 2800) is one of the shuttle bus services going to and from the airport. Car rental Tampa Airport
The airport has several car rental agencies: Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and Thrifty. You can also book a rental car in advance at EasyTerra, this website compares prices of several car rental agencies.
Taxicabs are parked in front of the exit. The minimum taxi fare to Tampa is USD 15.00. You can book a taxi with Yellow Cab (tel. +1(0)253 0121) or United Cab (tel: +1(0)253 2424).
Parking at the airport
Next to the terminal is the short term parking garage. Here you can't park more than four hours (the first hour is free, after that it is USD 1.00 per 20 minutes). Long term parking is a little further away from the terminal. The shuttle train or gangway connect the long term parking area to the terminal (one day of parking costs up to USD 15.00).
There is also a cheap long term parking option. A free shuttle service goes to this distant car park (one day costs up to USD 9.00) There is also a Valet parking service. For people who are picking up other people, there is the Cell Phone Waiting Lot, a free parking area with free Wi-Fi and flight information boards. At the terminals there are many shops, restaurants and (snack) bars.

The information desks at level 3 have information about the airport and timetables. There are kiosks with tourist information everywhere, here you can also book hotel rooms and cars with a driver.

Access for disabled people
Tampa International Airport has toilets for people with reduced mobility and telephones for hearing impaired people. There are especially reserved parking spaces for disabled people. Furthermore, the airport has wheelchair ramps and adapted elevators and toilets.
