Local transport

Train

There is no direct train connection. The MetroBus goes to the Tri-Rail-station Miami Airport that is directly east of the terminal. These trains go to Broward and Palm Beach. If you have a ticket for the Tri-Rail system, transportation between the airport and the station is free. For further information you can call 1-800-TRI-RAIL (only in Florida).

Car and bus

The airport is 14 kilometers northwest of Miami. From the center of the city you follow Interstate 95 to the north and you take exit NW 42nd Avenue (LeJeune Road). The route to the airport is clearly indicated.

From the bus station on the ground level (Level 1) of Hall E the SuperShuttle bus (tel: 305 871 2000) leaves to several destinations in Miami. Regular city buses (MetroBus) and regional buses also leave from here. City bus line 7 goes to the center of Miami, line 37 to Hialeah and Miami South and line 42 to Golden Glades, Opa Locka and Coconut Grove.

Furthermore, there is a special bus - Keys Shuttle (tel: +1(0)305 289 9997), to Florida Keys.

Car rental - Miami International Airport

In the Baggage Hall there are counters from many car rental companies, including: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, Royal Rent A Car and Thrifty. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

There are many taxis outside the Arrivals Hall (tel: +1(0)305 444 4444). For an indication of the rates: to South Beach $30.00-35.00, to Bal Harbor, Surfside and Indian Creek Village $38.00 and to North Miami Beach, Aventura, Golden Beach and Sunny Isles $46.00.

Airport Parking

There are two garages for long-term parking, both with direct entrance to the terminal: Dolphin Garage (North Terminal) and Flamingo Garage (South Terminal). Rates: first two hours $4.00 per hour, then $2.00 per hour with a maximum of $12.00 per day. Close to Hall E is an area for short-term parking, there you pay $2.50 per 30 minutes with a maximum of $25.00 per day.
