Train

There's no train connection with Cancún Airport.

Car and bus

The airport is situated 22 kilometers southwest of Cancún. The airport is easily accessible by rental car. From Cancún you follow the freeway (Carretera) heading for Chetumal. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated after 22 kilometers.

There are regular direct bus services to the central bus stations in Cancún (travel time 35 minutes) and Playa del Carmen (travel time over one hour). You can reserve a seat on this bus online.

There are several bus services with destinations in and around Cancún, including the Riviera Maya. These buses only leave when they are full and they make many stops at various hotels, which can make traveling time long. You can buy bus tickets at a kiosk near the baggage claim area.

Car rental Cancún Airport

You can rent cars in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 3. Four car rental companies are present at Cancún Airport: Budget, Dollar, Hertz and Thrifty. You can also book a rental car in advance using the service provided by EasyTerra; they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Outside the Arrivals Hall there's a ticket kiosk where you can book and pay a taxi (so you don't pay the driver). There are set rates. Although officially prohibited, you will be approached in the terminal by people wanting you as a client in their taxi. Cancún Airport offers the possibility to book an official taxi via the airport website.

Airport Parking

There's a large parking lot near the airport entrance. You pay 24 pesos an hour, with a maximum of 150 pesos per day. Although this parking lot is guarded, we advise against leaving your car here at night.
