Car and bus
Punta Cana Airport is situated on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, in between the beaches and holiday resorts. Coming from the north you can reach the airport in your rental car via the Cap Cana freeway, from the south, you take the Boulevard Hotelero. Both roads connect with the Carretera Aeropuerto to the airport.
Buses appear to be running from the airport to destinations on the coast, but they run very infrequently.

There's a parking lot outside the terminal, but only for short-term parking. We strongly advise against leaving your rental car here at night.
There are no hotels at Punta Cana Airport, but the airport lies nearby the beach where you can find many holiday resorts. Shops and restaurants
There are only a few shops and eating and drinking facilities at the airport. Opposite the terminal however you can find a large shopping center, more like a market, with a large range of both local products and international brands.
You cannot store your baggage at Punta Cana Airport. There's a lost-and-found counter at the baggage claim area.
In the central hall there's an information desk for inquiries about Punta Cana Airport, flight schedules and airport services. There are also travel agents.
There's no VIP lounge at Punta Cana Airport but there's a VIP terminal. It's intended for those arriving or departing with private planes. The large hotels and resorts in this part of the Dominican Republic are mainly aimed at tourists. There are some large spaces available, but they are mainly used for celebrations, parties and weddings.
All facilities at Punta Cana Airport are on the ground floor and easily accessible for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps and adapted toilets.
In the central hall you can find exchange offices and ATM's. In addition there's a small children's playground and a pharmacy. There are also internet cafés and wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available.
