Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport
The international airport of Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital, is named after the Slovenian intellectual and dissident Jože Pučnik, leader of the democratic opposition between 1989 and 1992.
To meet the growing number of passengers, a large, second terminal (T2) will become operational in 2012.

There's no train connection with Ljubljana Airport. It's proposed however to construct a rail connection with both the capital and Kranj.
Car and bus
The airport is situated 26 kilometers north of Ljubljana and is easily accessible by rental car. The airport lies along the freeway A2 (E61) from Ljubljana to Kranj. The exit to the airport is clearly signposted.
There are bus connections between the bus station at the airport and Ljubljana and Kranj. There's also a shuttle bus which brings you faster to the center of the Slovenian capital.
Car rental Ljubljana Airport
You can find counters of car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall. Eight rental companies are present at Ljubljana Airport: Atet, Avant, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. You can also book a rental car in advance using the service provided by EasyTerra; they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxis (Tel. +386(0)59 060 777) are lined up in front of the Arrivals Hall. A taxi ride to Ljubljana's center is however not cheap: expect to pay at least € 45. The current rates can be found on the website of Airport Taxi, where you can also book a taxi.
Parking garage P1 lies opposite the terminal. You pay approximately € 2 per hour. On the long-term open-air parking lot you pay € 10 per day for the first 3 days, and then € 5 per day.
There are no hotels at Ljubljana Airport. The nearest accommodation is the simple Hotel Penzion Jagodic (Tel. +386(0)4 252 1333). Shops and restaurants
In the recently built Commercial Hall you'll find a large number of restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars and shops. Apart from the usual duty-free articles you can also buy traditional Slovenian products.
You cannot store your baggage at Ljubljana Airport. For information about lost object you go to the airport police. You can also have your baggage wrapped in plastic.
There's an information desk in the Departure Hall for inquiries about Ljubljana Airport, flight schedules and airport services. In the Arrivals Hall you'll find several travel agents and the Tourist Office.

It's proposed to build a large business park and conference center (Aeropolis) north of the airport, but it's absolutely not clear when these plans will be realized.
Ljubljana Airport has excellent accessibility for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps, adapted elevators and toilets, and also low-hanging telephones.
You'll find banks, exchange offices and ATM's scattered around the terminals. The First Aid station can be reached via telephone number +386(0)4 2061 641. There are also children's playgrounds, massage parlors and wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is free. In addition, there are some internet kiosks.
