Bergen Airport Flesland lies approximately 20 kilometers south of Bergen. It is both a civil airport and a military airbase. As Norway's second airport it handles approximately 5 million passengers per year. Its most important domestic connection is Oslo, but it also offers international airline and chartered services.

The airport has a helicopter terminal and a passenger terminal with 11 movable passenger bridges. International flights are on the south side, domestic flights on the north side. Bergen Airport is Norway's most expensive airport. A bottle of water and a cookie will set you back at least EUR 10.00.

Local transport


Bergen Airport does not have a direct railway connection, but it does have a shuttle bus and a fast ferry connection to several towns. Outside rush-hour, the bus takes you in 25 minutes to downtown Bergen. For more information please visit the Norwegian bus company website.

Car and bus

The airport lies approximately 20 kilometer of downtown Bergen. The airport is right on highway 580/E39 from downtown Bergen towards Flesland. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

Bergen Airport has a shuttle bus, which takes you to downtown Bergen. During the week, the bus runs from 6.00 until 21.00. You can also travel to Nesttun or Fyllingsdalen.

There are taxicabs in front of the arrival hall. It is also possible to call a taxi, Bergen Taxi and Norges Taxi. These companies use fixed prices for the trip from downtown Bergen to the Airport. Daytime: NOK 295.00, nighttime NOK 345.00 and on holidays NOK 395.00 (2008 prices).

The Taxi1 taxis always start with the meter on zero. The cars are standard equipped with two infant car seats.
