Local transport

Train

The train station is just outside the Departures Hall. There are direct connections with Pisa and a single ticket costs €1.10 and with Florence, a single ticket costs €5.10. Train tickets are sold at the information counter in the Arrivals Hall. You can find the train schedule on the airport website.

Car and bus

Pisa Airport is directly on the highway Florence-Pisa-Livorno, the exit on the A12 to Genoa, the A12 is again connected with the A11 to Florence. Because the airport is so close to the city a ride to the center of Pisa does not take more than ten minutes.

City buses from Compagnia Pisana Trasporti leave every 20 minutes to Pisa. Buses that go to Lucca also stop in the center of Pisa, a ticket costs €0.85 and is valid for an hour in the bus network.

A special shuttle bus to the airport goes to SM Novella Station in Florence, the buses leave eleven times per day from 8:40-22:00.

You can rent a car in the Arrivals Hall with: Auto Europa, Avis, Sixt, Easy Car, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty or Maggíore. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several car rental providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall (tel: +39(0)50 541 600). A ride to Pisa costs between €5.00 and €7.00, at weekends and holidays there is a surcharge of €2.00.

You can also take a shared taxi with Pisa Taxi Cooperation, the taxi leaves every ten minutes and can take, at most, eight passengers at a calculated fixed rate, to the train station, €2.50 and to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, €4.00, the shared taxi is right outside the exit.

Airport Parking

The covered parking garage for long-term parking can also be used by people who want to quickly pick someone up or drop someone off and the first half hour is free, the covered parking garage is close to the Departures Hall.
