Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport
Izmir International Airport, on Turkey's west coast, is named after the former Turkish Prime Minister Adnan Menderes. The airport processes about 6 million passengers a year.

Car and bus
Izmir Airport is situated 18 kilometer southwest of the city center. The airport is easily accessible by rental car. It's located along the road from Izmit to Selçuk, Ephesus and Pamukkale. The exit to the airport is clearly signposted.
Buses of the company ESHOT connect the airport with Izmir. Bus 200 runs to Mavişehir, bus 202 to Alsancak Cumhuriyet Avenue and bus 204 to the central bus station and Bornova subway station. For tourists the Havaş shuttle bus is easier. This bus leaves every 20 minutes.
Car rental Izmir Airport
You can find counters of car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall. Several rental companies are present at Izmir Airport, including some local providers and international rental companies such as Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. There are many taxis outside the Arrivals Hall. Some have a meter, others not and some drivers refuse to turn on the meter. Make sure to agree on the price, before you get in.

Shops and restaurants
There's a large range of eating and drinking facilities at Izmir Airport, including a coffee shop with no less than 90 different types of coffee. There are also a large number of shops, including the usual duty-free shops but also shops offering typical Turkish products and souvenirs.
There's a lost-and-found desk (Tel. +90(0)232 455 4690) in the central hall of the international terminal. You can also deposit your baggage here. In addition you can have your baggage wrapped in plastic.
In both the Arrivals and Departure Halls there's an information desk for inquiries about Izmir Airport, flight schedules and airport services. There's also a Tourist Office counter in the Arrivals Hall.
The Millennium Lounge offers basic facilities such as faxing, copying and internet access. The Orty Airport Hotel has a few (small) meeting rooms. For extensive business facilities you need to turn to the business hotels in Izmir (see Hotels).
Izmir Airport has excellent accessibility for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps, adapted elevators and toilets, and also low-hanging telephones.
There are banks, exchange offices and ATM's. In addition, there are several prayer rooms for Muslims, a pharmacy, a First Aid station and baby rooms. Wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available. You need to buy a prepaid card for access.
