Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport
Istanbul Sabiha Airport is a modern airport in the Asian part of Turkey, east of Istanbul. The airport's name is a tribute to Sabiha Gökçen, the world's first female military pilot.

There's no train connection with Istanbul Sabiha Airport. It's proposed however to extend the new light rail line from Kadiköy (Asian part of Istanbul) to Kartal to the airport.
Car and bus
The airport is situated 40 kilometers southeast of the Asian center of Istanbul (Kadıköy) and 45 kilometers southeast of the European part. The airport is easily accessible by rental car. The airport lies along the road that connects two freeways: the so-called TEM Highway (E80) and the E5, which both lead to Istanbul. The way to the airport (or to Istanbul) is clearly signposted on both roads.

You'll find many counters of car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall. A parking garage with places for almost 5000 cars is connected with the terminal. For the first hour you pay 8 lira, to park 1-3 hours 10 lira, to park 3-6 hours 16 lira and 25 lira for a whole day.

Istanbul Sabiha Airport has a large duty-free area with many shops. There's also a large range of specialized shops and souvenir and gift shops. In addition, there are various restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars and coffee shops (for example Gloria Jean's Coffee).
In the Departure Hall you'll find baggage lockers as well as a counter to deposit your baggage (Tel. +90(0)216 588 8802). There's a lost-and-found desk (Tel. +90(0)216 588 8650) in the Arrivals Hall. You can also have your baggage wrapped in plastic.
In both the Arrivals and Departure Halls of the international terminal there's an information desk for inquiries about flight schedules and airport services. You can also get tourist information here. In addition you can ask the airport employees for assistance.
In the Departure Hall of the international terminal there's a business center offering facilities such as faxing, copying and internet. All gates and services are on the ground floor and there are adapted elevators, low-hanging telephones and ATM's adapted for the disabled in the terminal.
