Ankara Esenboğa International Airport
Ankara International Airport is named after its location. The village, Esenboğa, means 'healthy bull'. The new terminal was opened in 2006, making Ankara Esenboğa Airport an extremely modern airport. Three years later the designers were rewarded the predicate 'Best European airport in the category 5-10 million passengers per year'. The airport is located near Ankara, in the Asian part of Turkey.

Car and bus
Ankara Esenboğa Airport is situated 28 kilometers northeast of the Turkish capital's center. The airport is easily accessible by rental car; from the ring road (O-20) around Ankara, Özul Blv leads to the airport. The way is clearly signposted.
City busses (line 442) maintain the connection between the airport and Ankara's central bus station. Bus company Havas maintains a shuttle bus service with the Turkish capital, with stop-overs in Cubuk, Pursaklar, Haskoy, Kecioren and Etlik (traveling time: approximately 50 minutes).

Shops and restaurants
There's a good range of eating and drinking facilities at Ankara Esenboğa Airport, including restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars and ice-cream parlors. The range of shops is also extensive, with duty free shops, souvenir and gift shops.
There's a lost and found desk in the Arrivals Hall (Tel. +90 312 590 4388). Right next to it you can deposit your baggage. In addition there are machines to have your baggage wrapped in plastic.
Both in the Arrivals and Departures Hall of the domestic terminal, and in the Departure Hall of the international terminal there are information desks for inquiries about Ankara Esenboğa Airport, flight schedules and airport services. There's also a kiosk of the Turkish Tourist Office in the Arrivals Hall of the international terminal.
The airport has three VIP lounges: the Millennium Lounge, the CIP Lounge (Turkish Airways) and the Wings Prime-Class Lounge.
