Doha International Airport
End 2010, a new, third terminal, the 'Arrivals Terminal', became operational at the airport of Doha, Qatar's capital. The two older terminals were renamed 'Departure Terminal' and 'Transit terminal'.
Meanwhile a large, new airport is being constructed on the east side of the current airport, in which US$ 2 billion (!) is being invested. The new airport will be completely finished in 2015, but a part is likely to be opened earlier.

There's no train connection with Doha Airport.
Car and bus
Doha Airport is situated about 4 kilometers southeast of the city center. The airport is easily accessible by rental car via Al Matar Street or Ras Abu Abboud Street. The way to the airport is clearly signposted along both roads.
There are no bus connections between the airport and Doha, except for shuttle busses to large hotels.

You can find a counter of car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall. Eight rental companies are present at Doha Airport: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Mustafawi, Prestige, Sixt and Thrifty. Taxis are the only means of public transport between the airport and Doha. The orange-white taxis can be found outside the Arrivals Hall. A ride to the city center costs about 25 riyal.
There are large, covered parking lots near all terminals. You can park your car for 2 riyal per hour. The day rate for parking at Doha Airport amounts to 45 riyal.
There's one hotel at the airport, the Oryx Rotana Hotel (Tel. +974(0)4402 3333). Two other hotels, the Marriott Hotel (Tel. +974(0)4429 8888) and Al Sharq Village (Tel. +974(0)4425 6666) are near the Arrivals Terminal. Shops and restaurants
Doha Airport has immense duty-free shops. Although alcohol is prohibited in the country, alcoholic beverages are sold in these duty-free shops. You can of course only export them. There's also a wide range of restaurants and snack bars, but you will look in vain for a bar that serves alcohol.
You cannot store your baggage at Doha Airport. There are no lockers nor can you deposit your baggage at a counter. For inquiries about lost objects you need to turn to one of the information kiosks.

The luxurious lounges of various airlines all offer business facilities like faxing, copying and internet access. A small meeting space (max. 4 persons) is available at the Oryx Lounge (Tel. +974(0)4465 6658). Extensive business facilities are offered by the airport hotel Oryx Rotana and the five-star hotels nearby (see Hotels).
Doha Airport has excellent accessibility for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps, adapted elevators and toilets, and also low-hanging telephones. In addition parking places have been reserved for disabled travelers near the entrance of the terminals.
ATM's and branches of the Qatar National Bank can be found scattered around the terminals. There are also three mosques, two for men (in the Departure Terminal and in the Arrivals Terminal) and one for women (in the Departure Terminal). There's a post office in the Departures Terminal. Free wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available in all terminals and you can freely use the computers in the internet kiosks. There's a children's playground in the Departure Terminal. The medical clinic can be reached via one of the information desks. Smoking rooms can be found in the Departure and Transit Terminals, but not in the Arrivals Terminal.
