Hotels

There are no hotels at Kathmandu Airport. One of the nearest accommodations is the boutique hotel Dwarika’s (Tel. +977(0)1 447 3725). Other hotels nearby the airport include Hyatt Regency Kathmandu‎ (Tel. +977(0)1 449 1234), The Everest Hotel‎ (Tel. +977(0)1 478 0100), Hotel Vajra (Tel. +977(0)1 427 1545) and Radisson Hotel Kathmandu‎ (Tel. +977(0)1 441 1818).‎ For more hotels and to book online, you can go to Booking.com. They offer a large range of hotels, at competitive internet rates.

Shops and restaurants

There's no restaurant at Kathmandu Airport! As for shopping not a lot is going on either: there's one souvenir shop.

Baggage

You cannot store your baggage at Kathmandu Airport. Near the baggage claim area there's a lost-and-found counter.

Information

There are a general information desk and a Tourist Office on the ground floor. This Tourist Information Center offers brochures about places of interest in English, German and Spanish. There's also a counter to book hotels.

Business

Apart from some CIP (Commercially Important Persons) lounges with basic facilities like faxing and copying Kathmandu Airport doesn't offer business facilities. For this you need to turn to the business hotels in the city. The Hyatt, The Everest Hotel and Radisson (see Hotels), for example, offer meeting space and conference rooms.

Disabled facilities

Kathmandu Airport has good accessibility for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps and adapted elevators and toilets.

Other services

In the Arrivals Hall there are three banks, in the Departure Hall only one. You can change money here. In Nepal stringent rules apply to the import and export of money, so make sure to keep the receipt when you change money. The First Aid station can be reached via the general information desk or via one of the telephones in the terminal. There's also a small post office.
