Hotels

There are no hotels at Addis Ababa Airport. The nearest accommodations are the Meridian Hotel (Tel. +251(0)1 1661 5050) and the Dreamliner Hotel‎ (Tel. +251(0)1 1467 4000). The better hotels are located in the center of the Ethiopian capital including the Hilton Addis Ababa Hotel‎ (Tel. +251(0)1 1517 0000), Sheraton Addis‎ (Tel. +251(0)1 1517 1717) and the Ghion Hotel‎ (Tel. +251(0)1 513 222).

Shops and restaurants

There are a reasonable number of restaurants, (snack) bars and shops at Addis Ababa Airport, but the offer is definitely not overwhelming. Also keep in mind that most eating and drinking facilities are located behind customs.

Baggage

You cannot store baggage at Addis Ababa Airport. For lost and found items you need to turn to the airport security. There are also machines to have your baggage wrapped in plastic.

Information

In the central hall there's an information desk for inquiries about Addis Ababa Airport, flight schedules and airport services. In addition the Ethiopian Tourist Office has a counter in the Arrivals Hall.

Business

Except for basic facilities such a faxing, copying and internet access in the VIP lounge there are no business facilities at Addis Ababa Airport. These can be found in the business hotels in the center of the Ethiopian capital, such as the Hilton and the Sheraton (see Hotels). They offer for example meeting space and conference rooms. 

Disabled facilities

Addis Ababa Airport has good accessibility for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps and adapted elevators and toilets.

Other services

There are banks and exchange offices, but there's only one ATM (in the Arrivals Hall). There's also an ATM in the central hall, but travelers report that it's usually out of order. There's also a post office. The First Aid station can be reached via one of the telephones everywhere at the airport.
