Transport

Local transport

Train

In 2011 subway line 1 was extended until the airport. This is a fast, efficient and cheap way to get from the airport to the Iranian capital. It's proposed to also connect subway line 3 with the airport.

Car and bus

The international airport is situated 30 kilometers southwest of Tehran. The airport is easily accessible by car via the freeway which runs from Tehran to Qom. The exit to the airport (which continues to Robat-Karim) is clearly signposted.

There's one bus service between the airport and Tehran. It's not a fast, but definitely the cheapest, way to get to the capital. The terminus is Azadi Square and it stops at the subway stations Haram-e-Motahar and Sohada.

Car rental Tehran Airport

You can find counters of car rental companies, but only of local providers, in the Arrivals Hall. Keep in mind that traffic in Tehran, especially during rush hour, is busy and chaotic.

Taxi

Taxis can be found outside the Arrivals Hall. There's a fixed rate of 250,000 rial to any destination in Tehran. For a minibus-taxi you pay more, 350,000 rial. You can book taxis by telephone via +98(0)21 5100 7215 and +98(0)21 5100 7444.

Airport Parking

There are three parking facilities at Tehran Airport. Parking garage P1 is connected with the terminal. You pay an entrance fee of 500 rial and subsequently 300 rial per hour or 4,500 rial per day. Parking at the open-air parking lots P2 and P3 costs 400 rial entrance fee, 200 rial per hour and 3,000 rial per day. Shuttle buses run from the parking lots to the terminal.
