Ibiza Airport (IBZ)

Ibiza Airport is very busy in the high season (May to October), and apart from that it is quiet. For an indication: more than 85% of the total passengers processed per year are processed in the top months. In 2004 the airport processed more than four million passengers, and it is anticipated that this number will grow to 5.5 million in 2015. The airport is currently being expanded at this moment. The airport is something over seven kilometers southwest of the city of Ibiza (Eivissa).

Train

There is no railway on Ibiza.

Car and bus

The airport is easily accessible. There is only one road that leads to the airport, the PM-801. From the PM-803 (Ibiza-San José) you take the exit at kilometer 4.

Between 07:20 and 22:50 a bus leaves every half hour directly to the bus terminal in the city of Ibiza, at the Avenida Isidoro Macabich. You can find the stop right in front of the Arrivals Hall (price: € 1.20). From Ibiza there are busses to San Antonio, St. Rafael, St. Jordi de ses Salines, Santa Eulalia, Cala Llonga and Santa Agnes.

Car rental Ibiza Airport

In the Arrivals Hall there are counters for the following car rental companies: Avis, Betacar Ibiza, Centauro, Hertz and Tui Cars (Ultramar Express). You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerraprovides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the Arrivals Hall. All official taxis have meters. Price: € 0.82 per km during the day (06:00 – 21:00), € 1.12 per km during the night (21:00 – 06:00). The minimum price is € 2.80 and there is an airport surcharge of € 1.40. A ride to the city of Ibiza does not cost more than € 10.00 and lasts about 20 minutes.

Airport Parking

When dropping off or picking up passengers you can park for free right in front of the terminal in the Blue Zone (Zona Azul, max. 15 minutes). There is room for 500 parking places in parking area P1. The first half hour of parking is free, and then you must pay € 0.90 per hour or € 9.00 per day.

Hotels

There is no lack of hotels on this tourist island. Hotels close to the airport are situated on Playa d’en Bossa east of the airport: Sirenis Hotel Club Goleta (tel: +34(0)971 302 158) and Aparthotel Club Garbi (tel: +34(0)971 300 007). Shops and restaurants

Ibiza Airport does not have many stores (7). You can find them especially on the first level of the terminal. There are many local products (i.e. food) to purchase. There is one duty-free shop (Aldeasa).

As far as eating and drinking is concerned, there is a choice of a few snack bars, cafes and fast food restaurants.

Baggage

You cannot store baggage at the Ibiza airport. There is an office for lost and found items in the Arrivals Hall (tel: +34(0)971 809 207).

You can find a general information counter in the Arrivals Hall (tel: +34(0)971 809 000). Tourist information is available at the counter from the ‘Ibiza & Formentera Island Council’ (tel: +34(0)971 809 118) and at more than twenty tour operators.
