Trondheim Airport (TRD)
Trondheim Airport is in Stjørdal, about 35 kilometers east of Trondheim. It is a civilian airport as well as a military airbase. The most important domestic connection is with Oslo (25 flight per day). In addition there are international routes and charter flights.
There are two terminals: Terminal A is for domestic flights and the renovated Terminal B is for international connections.
Prices are given here in the Norwegian krone (NOK). € 1.00 = NOK 8.32 (January 2007).
Local transport
Train
The train station is next to the terminal. Many local, regional and intercity trains stop there. A ride to Trondheim takes about 35 minutes. For more information about train service you can call tel: +47(0)815 00 888 (choose ‘4’ for an English speaking worker).
Car and bus
The airport is along two motorways: the E6 (to Trondheim) and the E14 (to the Swedish border). The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.
The Airport Express Bus leaves every 15 minutes to the centre of Trondheim. This bus makes stops at large hotels and the last stop is at the Lerkendal football stadium.
Car rental Trondheim Airport
There are counters in the Arrivals Hall for the following car rental companies Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
Taxis are in front of the Arrivals Hall (Stjørdal Taxi, tel: +47(0)7483 7500, costs about NOK 500). You can also order a shared a taxi for a fixed price (NOK 265) through Trøndertaxi (tel: + 47(0)9300 7373). You must do this however a minimum of four hours before arrival or departure.
Airport Parking
There are more than sufficient parking spaces at the airport. Rates: covered, NOK 25 per hour or NOK 120 per day; open air, NOK 15 per hour or NOK 85 per day; parking garage (Parking-West), NOK 40 per day (minimum rate). For more information you can contact Europark A/S (tel: +47(0)7484 3500)
Services
Hotels
Right by the airport – in Stjørdal – is the Quality Airport Hotel Værnes (tel: +47(0)7480 4500). For other hotels it is recommended to go to Trondheim. You can reserve hotel rooms at the service counter in the Arrivals Hall. For more hotels and reserving online you can go to Booking.com. They have a large offering of hotels with great internet rates.
Shops and restaurants
The offering of shops and eating and drinking places is limited. Terminal A has a restaurant and a bar, but in Terminal B there is only a snack bar. Moreover, there is one duty free shop (Norway is not in the EU), a perfume store and a newspaper and magazine kiosk.
Baggage
The general service counter is where you go for lost and found items. You cannot store baggage at Trondheim Airport.
Information
There is a general service counter in the Arrivals Hall, where you can also get help with tourist information and hotel reservations.
Business
The airport has a business and conference centre. Besides general business facilities there are seven rooms available, for 12 to 45 persons. Handicapped persons
The airport is accessible for handicapped persons.
Other services
