Corfu International Airport (CFU)
The Corfu Airport is officially called Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport, but it is mostly called Corfu Airport or Kerkyra Airport. The airport is approximately three kilometers south of the city of Corfu. In the summer the airport is very busy because the many charter flights, especially on Monday and Friday. The terminal building is too small to process the large amount of people. It is not unusual the departing passengers must wait outside the building.
Local transport
Train
There are no trains on Corfu.
Car and bus
There is only one road from the airport to the city of Corfu.
Next to the Arrivals Hall there is a bus station where busses leave to the bus terminal in the city of Corfu and the Platia Y Theotoki, which is also called San Roccoplein. Busses leave from the station to the many destinations on Corfu.
The majority of busses that are seen at the airport are hired by tour operators. Most holidays booked on Corfu include transportation to the hotel.
Car rental Corfu Airport
In the Arrivals hall there are counters for car rental companies which include the international companies Budget, Hertz and Europcar. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
Taxis are outside of the Arrivals Hall. Agree on a price before you get in the taxi. The normal price for a ride to the holiday accommodations on the northeast coast of Corfu is about €30 and about €10 to the city of Corfu.
Airport Parking
There are insufficient parking places at the airport; about 120 in total. Parking in a place where it is not officially allowed is tolerated as long as it does not impede the traffic. Moreover, keep in mind the fact that there are large tour busses coming and going at Corfu Airport.

Hotels
There are no hotels at the airport, but the city of Corfu is close, and there are countless hotels and vacation resorts throughout whole island, mostly on the northeast coast. Younger people especially go to Kavos in the southwest.

Shops and restaurants
Corfu Airport is a small airport with limited facilities. There are a few snack bars and cafes and also a few shops. The prices are on the high side.
Baggage
Definitely on busy days (Monday and Friday) in the high season (July and August) you must wait a long time for your baggage. Without exception you must wait an hour or longer until your baggage is on the baggage belt. There are no facilities to store your baggage. For lost and found items you must go to the information counter.
Information
There is an information counter in the Arrivals Hall. The counters for the airline companies are only open right before and after a flight.
Business
There are no facilities for business travelers. Facilities for meetings, conferences and other business services can be found in the Corfu Palace Hotel (see Hotels).
Handicapped persons
There are a few facilities for handicapped persons like an adapted restroom and reserved parking places.
Other services
There are cash machines, a money exchange office and a bank. There is also a small post office.
