Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE)

Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur is the second busiest airport in France (Paris- Charles de Gaulle is the busiest). International jetsetters use this airport a lot to fly to luxurious vacation resorts or to second homes in places such as St. Tropez, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco. On the other hand there are also budget airlines at Nice such as EasyJet.

The airport is seven kilometers west of Nice and has two terminals. Terminal 2 has a new section that is also called New Terminal 2. A free shuttle bus rides between the terminals.

Local transport

Train

500 meters from Terminal 1 is the SNCF-station Nice St. Augustin. The regional train (tel: +33(0)892 35 35 35) leaves from there to destinations between Cannes and Vintimille. All other lines leave from the Central Station in Nice. There are direct busses from the airport to the station: bus line 99 leaves from Terminal 1, and bus line 23 leaves from Terminal 2.

Car and bus

Nice Airport is surrounded by an extensive road system. From the “Promenade des Anglais” you go towards Nice. The A8 connects the airport with Italy and Monaco (going north) and with places west of Nice like Cannes. The RN 7 (National Route) goes along the airport and goes to various places along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. RN 98 goes to Cannes and Antibes. Nice Airport has an extensive bus station where busses leave to all places along the Côte d'Azur. On the busses from Ligne d'Azur you can buy a ticket for € 1.30 that is valid for 1 hour 15 minutes (tel: +334 898 898 28).

Car rental Nice Côte d'Azur Airport

In both terminals you can find counters for the following car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, ADA and National Citer. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

There are taxis standing in front of both terminals. An indication of the prices is: Nice 20-25 euro, Antibes 45-55 euro, Cannes 60-70 euro, St. Tropez 230-260 euro. From 19:00-7:00 there is a 20% surcharge, and you must pay for the toll roads. Tel: +33(0)4 9313 7878.

Airport Parking

There are various parking areas available. It can be difficult to choose the best option. P1 is by Terminal 1 and is reserved for short term parking (first 30 min. € 1.70, up to two hours € 6.50, more than two hours € 25.00 penalty). P2 and P3 surround P1 (first hour € 2.20, but the first 30 minutes at P3 are free). P4 is for long term parking (from € 30.00 for the first three days) and P8 is the so-called “economy parking” (€ 10.00 per day). G1 and G2 are secured, covered parking garages. Hotels

The following hotels have direct complimentary shuttle busses to and from the airport: Holiday Inn Resort (tel: +33(0)4 9314 8000), Novotel Nice Aéroport Cap 3000 (tel: +33(0)4 9331 6115), Novotel Nice Arenas Aéroport (tel: +33(0)4 9321 2250) and Campanile Nice Côte d'Azur (tel: +33(0)4 9321 2020). Shops and restaurants

At the most important airport of the Côte d'Azur, the centre of sophisticated enjoyment and pleasure, there is no shortage of shops, bars and restaurants. Moreover, you must pay a lot for eating, drinking, and other items in most stores.

Baggage

The Service Center takes care of storing baggage and of lost and found items (see Information).

Information

In all terminals there are information counters. In Terminal 1 they are in both the Arrivals Hall and Departures Hall, and in Terminal 2 there is one only in the Arrivals Hall. The same also applies for tourist counters.

Furthermore, there are so-called Service Centers where a range of services offered: baggage storage, lost and found items, dry-cleaning services, the delivering or collection of documents, faxes, prints, etc.

Business

Nice Airport has an extensive Business Center, (tel: +33(0)820 423 333). On the first floor of Terminal 1 there are six meeting rooms and one conference hall with a capacity of 250 persons. The large hall can be divided into two or four rooms. On the second floor of Terminal 2 there are seven meeting rooms with a surface area of 15 m² to 50 m². You can book these rooms on the website through the “Centre d'Affaires”.

For frequent users of Nice Airport there is the Club Airport Premier program. For each flight from Nice Airport you earn points which give you direct fast check-ins, reserved parking places or discounts in the shops. You can register for free online.

You can fly with a helicopter to your end destination from Nice Airport. There are three companies that offer these services. More information is available on the website.

Handicapped persons

Nice Airport has excellent facilities for handicapped persons: wheelchair ramps, adapted restrooms, elevators, telephones and cash machines. All parking areas have places reserved for handicapped persons.

Other services

You can find cash machines and money exchange offices everywhere in the airport. In Terminal 1 there is a post office, a pharmacy and a prayer space. On the first floor of Terminal 1 there is a vaccination centre.

In the New Terminal 2 there are public computer terminals with internet; you can also connect your own laptop. Wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is present throughout the whole airport. In the Business Centres of both terminals there are changing exhibitions.
