Salzburg Airport (W.A. Mozart) (SZG)
The Salzburg airport is the second largest airport in Austria (after Vienna). Salzburg Airport processed 1.7 million travelers in 2005. It is an important airport for the winter sport region in Austria. There are two terminals, but Terminal 2 is only open during the winter months and then only on Saturdays since most charter flights arrive and depart on this day.
Local transport
Train
There is no train connection with the airport. Bus line 2 goes to the Hauptbahnhof in Salzburg.
Car and bus
The airport is close to the city: only four kilometers from the centre of Salzburg. The exit to the airport (‘Flughaven’) is clearly indicated on highway A1 (to Vienna and Budapest), the exit that connects to the A8 (to Munich). From the centre of Salzburg you follow first the Maxglaner Hauptstrasse and then the Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse (B1) that leads directly to the airport.
During the day a bus (line 2) leaves every ten minutes to the Salzburg Central Station. The travel time is about 20 minutes. Other destinations are also accessible from the bus station at the airport, such as Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden, Weißbach, St. Martin, Unken, Bad Reichenhall and Wals.
Car rental Salzburg Airport
In the Arrivals Hall you can find counters for the car rental companies Avis, Bluebox, Budget, Europcar (Arac), Hertz, National/Alamo (Denzeldrive) and Sixt. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
Taxis are outside of the Arrivals Hall. A ride to the centre of Salzburg takes about 15 minutes and costs about € 12.00.
Airport Parking
Parking area P1 and P2 are for short term parking (16 hours parking costs € 17.50). There is also a garage for long term parking (16 hours: € 13.30). It is cheaper to park you car at P3, P5 or P7 (16 hours: € 10.50). There are prepaid parking tickets that can be purchased from € 70, € 140 and € 280 where you can receive a 10% discount. Business
The business facilities at this airport are limited. Airest (tel: +43(0)662 852 751) has two meeting rooms available (for 20 and 40 persons, respectively).

Handicapped persons
The terminal is excellently accessible for handicapped persons. There are wheelchair ramps, a chairlift, and adapted restrooms and telephones. Bus line 2 to the Central Station is accessible for wheelchairs. In the parking garage there are places reserved for handicapped travelers. You can go to the service counter for assistance.
Other services
There are banks, money exchange offices, cash machines and a post office. There is also an internet centre, and wireless internet is present throughout the terminal. There is a play corner for children in the Panaroma Restaurant.
