There aren't any hotels at the aiport of Alicante. However, there are some hotels in the near vicinity of the airport, the closest one being Express by Holiday Inn Alicante. More Holiday Inn hotels do exist in Alicante although the city centre offers many other hotels.

Hotels in the centre of Alicante

Alicante is a popular attraction for tourists. The city is situated beautifully and has an impressive boulevard. Along the boulevard there are numerous resorts and hotels, most of which are luxurious.

The Sol Meliá chain is known for its luxurious hotels with panoramic views. Alicante forms no exception to this, along the entire coastline hotels of this chain dominate the horizon. Close to both the beach and the historical centre one can find the Mélia Hotel Alicante, extensive premises comprised of 544 rooms with seaview, 358 'standard' rooms and a large amount of suites. Additional hotels in the Sol meliá chain are the Tryp Gran Sol and Tryp Ciudad de Alicante.

Despite the fact that these luxury hotels have splendid locations and modest prices, the city centre houses 2 and 3 star hotels of the same value. At times, it can be surprising to see even cheaper hotels which offer equal quality. An example is the 2 star accommodation Les Monges Hostal, which houses in a charming building. Some of the rooms are decorated in Moorish style and all of the rooms have luxurious facilities. Rates are excellent here and the minibar even displays mini-prices.

Less abundant although cheaper are the student-oriented hostels in the historical centre. In the middle of the city centre, at walking distance from town hall and the central market square lies Hostal La Milagrosa, with excellent rooms, a lovely roofterrace and friendly staff.
