To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for one year. An international drivers' license is recommended and seatbelts are mandatory. Distances are shown in kilometers.

The roads are excellent and outside the crowded region around Toronto, Montréal and the capital of Ottawa, one will notice the tranquility on the roads. Speed limits vary per county and alcohol usage is heavily prohibited (and monitored). The penalty for drinking & driving is severe.

Southeast of Montréal lies Ottawa. The distance is 165 km (from Montréal) and the capital city, with its governmental buildings, can be reached within 2 hrs. For those who enjoy the outdoors, a trip due North is recommended, an oasis of lush scenery and tranquility awaits you there.
