Eindhoven Airport (EIN)
Eindhoven (Welschap) Airport was origanally an airforce base, but has experienced a considerable growth in the last few years thanks to budget airlines. The military part of the airport is still called Welschap, but the civilian part of the airport is called Eindhoven Airport.
Local transport
Train
There is no train connection with the airport. A bus goes to the central station in Eindhoven. There are excellent rail connections with the rest of The Netherlands.
Car and bus
The airport is along highway A2 (Amsterdam – Maastricht). The exit to the airport is clearly indicated. From this exit (nr. 29) you follow the Anthony Fokkerweg. After about 500 meters you go right on the Luchthavenweg.
Bus line 401 leaves four times per hour to the centre of Eindhoven (Central Station). The travel time is about 20 minutes.
An express bus goes to Amsterdam in connection with flights from Ryanair and Corendon Istanbul. The last stop is at Central Station in the capital. The travel time is about two hours.
Car rental Eindhoven Airport
There are counters in the Arrivals Hall for the car rental companies Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Sixt and National. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
Taxis are in front of the terminal. A ride to the centre of Eindhoven takes about 15 minutes.
Airport Parking
Directly next to the terminal is parking area P1 for short term parking. Parking places P3 and P4 (for long term parking) can be found 300 and 400 meters from the airport, respectively. Rates: first 10 minutes free, one hour € 3.00, first day € 24.50, 2 days € 48.50, 3 days € 72.50. It costs € 10.00 per day after that.

Hotels
There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest hotel is Novotel Eindhoven Airport (2 km, tel: +31(0)40 252 6575). For more hotels and reserving online you can go to Booking.com. They have a large offering of hotels with great internet rates.
Shops and restaurants
There is one store in the terminal with various items (Shop & Fly). The restaurant Belvedair has different establishments: a snack bar on the ground floor in the Departures Hall and an extensive assortment on the first level that consists of a self service section and an á la carte restaurant.
Baggage
There are baggage carriers at Eindhoven Airport but you must pay a deposit of one or two euro. There are baggage safes in the Departures Hall. The information counter is where you must go for lost and found items.
Information
There is an information counter (tel: +31(0)40 291 9818) in the Central Hall for inquiries about flights, stop over opportunities, public transportation and hotels. You can also purchase stamps, telephone cards, newspapers and various gift items there.
Business
A Business Centre is on the first level where you can use several business services (telephone, fax, copying, computers). There are offices and meeting rooms to rent. Furthermore, there is a lounge named the Business Room with connections for laptops.
Handicapped persons
Most facilities can be found on the ground floor with exception of the restaurant in the Business Centre. These are accessible with an adapted elevator. There are also adapted restrooms and wheelchair ramps. Wheelchairs are available at Eindhoven Handling (tel: +31(0)40 251 6142).
There are places in parking area P1 reserved for handicapped persons. You pay the rate for area P4.
Other services
There are cash machines and wireless internet present in the terminal. There is a medical office (Travel Doctor) on the first level where you can get vaccinations, among other things. This is also the First Aid post that you can call through the service counter.
