Lanzarote Airport (ACE)
The airport in Lanzarote has two terminals: T2 is only for flights to other Canary Islands, and T1 is for all other flights. The airport process approximately 5.5 million passengers per year, and the majority come from Great Britain and Germany.
There are not trains operating in Lanzarote.
Car and bus
The airport is five kilometers from the island’s capital Arrecife, along the highway Arrecife-Yaiza (LZ-2). The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.
Next to the Arrivals Hall is the stop for bus line 4 that leaves every half hour to the bus station in Arrecife in Playa Honda, buses leave from this station to all destinations in Lanzarote, including to Puerto del Carmen, Femes, Maguez, Orzola, Los Valles, Montana Blanc and Puente Mujeres.
Car rental - Lanzarote Airport
In the Arrivals Hall there are counters for car rental companies: Autos Reisen, Avis, Betacar, Cabrera Medina, Cicar, Felycar, Hertz and Payless. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxis are next to the Arrivals Hall. A ride to Arrecife costs approximately €8.00, to Costa Teguise €15.00 and to Playa Blanca approximately €30.00.
Right in front of the terminal there is a parking area with places for more than 1,100 cars, the first half hour of parking is free, for the second half hour you pay €0.50, then €0.95 per hour with a maximum of €9.25 per day, from the fifth day €7.40 per day.
The nearest hotels are Beatriz Playa (tel: +43(0)928 512 166) and Sol Lanzarote (tel: +43(0)928 514 888) in Puerto del Carmen and the Arrecife Gran Hotel (tel: +43(0)928 800 000) in Arrecife. Shops and restaurants
There is a reasonable range of bars and restaurants, four snack bars, an ice cream parlor and five restaurants, among which are the fast food chains Pizza Hut and Burger King. There is an abundance of shops. Be advised, the Canary Islands have a separate status, there are limits on the export of tobacco and alcohol.
You cannot store baggage at this airport. There is a counter for lost and found items in the Departures Hall (tel: +43(0)928 846 001).
There are general service counters in the Central Hall and in the Departures Hall (tel: +43(0)902 404 704) from Aena, the operator of Spanish airports. There is also a counter from the Tourism Bureau in the Central Hall, Cabildo de Lanzarote (tel: +43(0) 928 846 073), you can also find travel agencies and tour operators there.
There is a VIP lounge (tel: +43(0)928 846 345) in the Departures Hall with facilities such as fax, telephone and internet, you can also fax and copy at the lottery counter in the Central Hall.
The terminal is accessible for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps, adapted restrooms and elevators. Right in front of the terminal there are parking places reserved for the disabled.
There is a money exchange office (Travel 2000) in the Departures Hall, and there are several ATM's. In the Central Hall you can find a pharmacy. First Aid is in the Arrivals Hall, you can also request First Aid at one of the information counters.
