Fuerteventura Airport (FUE)

The airport on the Canary Island Fuerteventura is five kilometers south of the capital Puerto del Rosario. It is a small airport with one terminal with the Arrivals Hall and Departures Hall on the ground floor.

Local transport

Train

There are no trains operating on Fuerteventura.

Car and bus

The main road FV-1 goes directly from the capital Puerto del Rosario to the airport.

The most important bus line (3) goes from Puerto del Rosario via the airport to the tourist destination Caleta de Fuste. The bus leaves every 30 minutes. Line 10 goes less frequently from the capital via the airport to Morro Jable. This goes every hour. Many places are accessible from the bus station in Puerto del Rosario.

Car rental Fuerteventura Airport

You can find the following car rental companies in the Arrivals Hall: Autos Reisen, Avis, Cicar and Hertz. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis stand in a long line right in front of the Arrivals Hall. Prices are given on a board to popular destinations. For an indication: Parque Holandes: € 20.00, Oliva Beach and Tres Islas: € 30.00, Caleta de Fuste € 9.00 and Tarajelejo € 42.00.

Parking

There are about 1200 parking places. The first half hour is free, and you pay € 0.40 for the second half hour. Then parking costs € 0.75 per hour with a maximum of € 7.50 per day (from the sixth day € 6.00).

Hotels

There are no hotels at the airport. The hotels and resorts on the island are aimed mostly at tourists. There is one five star hotel on Fuerteventura: Hotel Elba Palace Golf (tel: +34(0)928 163 922) in Antigua. For more hotels and reserving online you can go to Booking.com. They have a large offering of hotels with great internet rates.

Shops and restaurants

There is a reasonable offering of shops and restaurants.

Baggage

The information counters also function as the counter for lost and found items. Information is available through the general number. You cannot store baggage at Fuerteventura Airport.

You can find two general information counters from Aena (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea, tel: +34(0)902 404 704) in the terminal.

Business

The airport has no services for business travelers, with exception of a VIP lounge in the Departures Hall.

Handicapped persons

The airport is excellently accessible for handicapped persons. There are wheelchair ramps and adapted restrooms and telephones. There are parking places reserved for handicapped persons right in front of the terminal entrance.

Other services

There is no bank, but there are two cash machines. There is also a play area for children on the first level of the terminal. The First Aid post is available by telephone at tel: +34(0)928 860 717.
