Genua Airport Christoforo Colombo (GOA)

Genua is an important economic center of Italy, moreover, it is a beautiful historical city which draws more and more tourists. The airport has recently been modernized and processes more than one million passengers per year.

Local transport

Train

There is no train connection with the airport.

Car and bus

The airport is seven kilometers west of Genua along highway A10 (Genova–Ventimiglio). The exit to the airport is clearly indicated. The access road to the airport comes to an end in a roundabout in front of the terminal.

Between 06:00 and 23:20 a bus (AMT Volabus) leaves every hour to the train station (Stazione F.S. Principe) in Genua, travel time is 30 minutes and costs €3.00, tickets can be purchased at the post office.

Car rental - Genua Airport Christoforo Colombo

In the Arrivals Hall you can find counters for car rental companies: Auto Europa, Avis, Easy Car, Europcar. Hertz. Italy by Car, Maggiore, Sixt and Travelcar. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the Arrivals Hall (tel: +39(0)10 5966). For approximately €20.00, you can get to the center of Genua in 15 minutes.

Airport Parking

There is a parking area (tel: +39(0)10 6015 273) in front of the Arrivals Hall with places for 800 vehicles, the price for the first hour is €1.50, up to 3 hours €3.00, the full day €12.00, 3 days €30.00, then €10.00 per day thereafter.

Just in front of the airport next to the Aero Club, is an unattended parking area where you can park for free for a maximum of three hours.

Services

Hotels

The Sheraton Genova Hotel (tel: +39(0)10 65491) is the only hotel at the airport, it is 200 meters from the terminal building. For more hotels and to reserve online you can go to Booking.com, they have a large range of hotels with great internet rates.

Shops and restaurants

The airport has a limited number of shops and one Duty Free shop and there are three bars and a self-service restaurant.

Baggage

There is a window in the Baggage Hall for lost and found items (tel: +39(0)10 6015 407). There are no facilities to store baggage.

Information

The general information counter is accessible through the general telephone number, in the Arrivals Hall you can find the Tourist Bureau which is open 08:00–22:00.

Business

The Sala Genova VIP Lounge (tel: +39(0)10 6015 380) is open 06:00-21:00 and offers among other things, internet access and check-in facilities for passengers traveling only with hand baggage, the lounge is accessible for VIP cardholders of several companies.

Extensive conference facilities are available in the Sheraton Hotel at the airport.

Disabled facilities

The terminal is very accessible for the disabled. There are wheelchair ramps, adapted elevators and restrooms. Right in front of the terminal there are parking places reserved for the disabled.

Other services

There are banks (Banca Carige), money exchange offices and ATM's, there is also a post office.
