Tampere Airport

Tampere is one of Finland's busiest airports. The airport is located a few kilometers from Tampere, a medium-sized city in Finland. Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is named after its location near the town of Pirkkala. In recent years, the airport has grown extensively after the arrival of low-cost airlines. Tampere handles about 600,000 passengers annually. The airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is for cargo, passengers and charters. The (old) terminal 2 is used for Ryan Air flights.

Local transport

Train

There is no direct train to the airport. However, a bus goes from Terminal 2 to the Tampere train station. For more information, please visit the bus company website.

Car and bus

The airport is located about 13 kilometers southwest of the center of Tampere.

Bus 61 runs between T1 and Tampere. For more information, please visit the bus company website. There is also a bus that goes from T2 to the train station (see above).

Car rental Tampere Airport

Taxi

Parking at the airport

The airport has parking spaces. One hour of parking costs EUR 1.00, one day costs EUR 10.00. Eight days costs EUR 45.00 and each following day EUR 3.00 extra.

Hotels

There is no hotel at the airport. However, at 6 kilometers there is the Kiviranta Meeting & Events Center (tel. +358(0)3254 4090). Business

T1 has several business facilities. For instance, you can book a meeting room with many facilities for up to 22 people. You can book this room at the information desk. There is also a VIP Lounge for up to 10 people.

Access for disabled people

Terminal 1 has toilets for people with reduced mobility. There are especially reserved parking spaces for disabled people. For more information, please contact (tel. +385(0)3 283 5450).

Other services

T1 has a VIP Lounge. This lounge can accommodate up to 10 people. This lounge has a kitchen, toilet and a telephone. Just outside T1 there are a mailbox and telephones.
