Cyprus Airport (LCA)

Larnaca International Airport is simply called by most people Cyprus Airport. The airport in Larnaca is a vital link in the flight traffic between Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, Cyprus is itself an important tourist destination. The airport processes more than five million passengers per year, much more than for which it was built. According to expectations the entire airport will be renovated with a larger terminal and better access roads in 2009. The runways have already been extended and the new control tower is also already in use.

Train

There are no trains operating on Cyprus.

Car and bus

Larnaca Airport is five kilometers south of the city Larnaca on the southern coast of Cyprus where the most important tourist beaches are. The capital Nicosia is 40 kilometers to the north.

A city bus leaves every hour to the centre of Larnaca. This bus only operates Monday through Friday. Furthermore, there is also a Intercity Bus (green bus, tel: +357(0)24 643 492) that goes to Nicosia.

Car rental Cyprus Airport

There are offices from ten car rental companies: Argus, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National Astra, Petsas, Thames, Sixt and Thrifty. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

There is a board hanging in the Arrivals Hall with the current taxi prices to various destinations. Taxis are parked in front of the Arrivals Hall. Cyprus Airport Transfers (tel: +357(0)26 323 422) and Acropolis Transport (tel: +357(0)24 622 000) take care of transportation by taxi and minibus.

Airport Parking

There is a large parking area in front of the terminal. There is no difference between short and long term parking; you pay a fixed amount per hour. But the price is low anyways.

Hotels

There is a counter for reserving hotels in the Arrivals hall. Shops and restaurants

Larnaca Airport has a very limited offering of shops and restaurants. In the Departures Hall you can find one snack bar and one restaurant. In addition there is a cafe in the Central Hall.

Baggage

The window for lost and found items can be found close to the baggage belt in the Arrivals Hall. You cannot store baggage. For lost luggage you can call tel: +357(0)24 643 314.

Information

There is a small office for the Cyprus Tourism Bureau in the Arrivals Hall. In addition there are counters for several airline companies and travel agencies.

Business

There is a lounge for Cyprus Airways with a Business Centre (tel: +357(0)24 692 661) in the Departure Hall. Here you can fax, copy and use computers with internet connection. There are no meeting facilities at Larnaca Airport.

Handicapped persons

The terminal building is very accessible for handicapped persons. There are adapted elevators and restrooms, and wheelchairs are available. There are parking places reserved for handicapped persons close to the entrance.

Other services

There are three banks and a few cash machines. You can find a post office and a First Aid station in the Arrivals Hall.
