In recent years, the airport of Casablanca has been thoroughly renovated and extended. Most flights are now handled in the new Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is temporarily closed for renovation.
Rates mentioned here are in Moroccan currency, the dirham, €1.00 is worth approximately 12 dirham (March 2008).
Underneath the Arrivals Hall, there is a train station. There is an hourly service to the center and the harbor of Casablanca, and then to Mohammédia, Rabat, Salé and the industrial city of Kénitra, a train ticket to Casablanca costs 50 dirham for first class or 35 dirham for second class. Car and bus
The airport is located at 30 kilometers to the southeast of Casablanca, along the main road to Marrakech, which, to the north of the city connects to the Casablanca-Rabat highway. From the center of Casablanca, follow the signs to Settat. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.
Bus company CTM maintains a regular connection between the airport and the center of Casablanca, travel time is approximately one hour. For further information (tel: +212(0)522 361 304).
Car rental - Casablanca Mohammed V Airport
In the Arrivals Hall, there are many counters and desks for car rental companies, international chains that are represented are: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Thrifty. You can also book a rental car at EasyTerra, which offers a comparison of several providers.
In front of the Arrivals Hall, there are plenty of taxis, these are the so-called grands taxis (white color), which are much more expensive than the petit taxi’s (red color) that are only allowed to drive in the city. There is a sign with the official rates, but almost every taxi driver tries to get more, a ride to Casablanca center costs approximately 250 dirham.
In front of the terminal building, there is a large parking area with spaces for short-term and long-term parking. Information about parking rates is not available.
There are no hotels at this airport. The nearest one is the Atlas Airport Hotel (tel: +212(0)522 53 62 00). Other hotels in Casablanca: Hyatt Regency (tel: +212(0)522 261 234), the Idou Anfa Hotel (tel: +212(0)522 200 235), Le Royal Mansour Meridien (tel: +212(0)522 313 011) and Sheraton Hotel and Towers (tel: +212(0)522 439 494), all these hotels have a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. Shops and restaurants
After the renovation of Terminal 2, Casablanca Airport has a good variety of restaurants, snack bars and cafés. The range of shops has also become wider, and more international.
It is not possible to store baggage at Casablanca Airport. The lost and found counter is located at the information desk.
Both in the Arrivals Hall and the Departure Hall, there is a general information desk (tel: +212(0)522 539 040).
In the Central Hall, there is a small business center that offers fax, copying facilities and computers with internet access. The Atlas Airport Hotel has a meeting room with a maximum capacity for 70 people. More extensive business facilities are offered by the business hotels in the center of Casablanca (see under Hotels).
The airport is very accessible for disabled people. Elevators and toilets have been modified for wheelchair users and there are telephones that have been adapted to accommodate the visually or hearing impaired, there are also wheelchair slopes. For assistance, contact the information desk.
There are exchange offices, ATM's, banks and a post office. There are telephones throughout the terminal building. First Aid can be called via one of the telephones or via the information desk. There is also a small children's play area.
